My kid doesn’t have ANY of these apps! Why are they in the report?

Last Updated: May 15, 2018 01:41PM PDT

Many apps have, what we call, "background noise", which is network activity when apps run in the background without the device owner's knowledge or action. For example, Facebook and Instagram will download fresh your friends' updates overnight to make the app load and work faster.

Other times, ads on websites, games, or apps can also access Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter "behind the scene" without you knowing about it.

We are diligently working on removing these background noises from everyone's usage report. We try our best to make sure you are seeing relevant and accurate reports, but please let us know of a specific activity that shouldn’t be there by reaching out to us at so we can help you unGlue your family correctly!

In the meantime, you can ignore ANY one-two minutes activities, those are unlikely to be caused by your children.
